Mandate and operations

 

UNOCHA coordinates the global emergency response to save lives and protect people in humanitarian crises.

Standby Partnerships programme

 

UNOCHA has been contributing and engaging with the SBP Network in the following ways:

  • In-kind contribution to the SBP Network through travels of core functions.

  • Participation and active engagement in at least one of the existing Working Groups. UNOCHA participates in the MEAL Working Group and is currently co-chairing the Duty of Care Working group.

  • Participation in the Steering Committee. UNOCHA was also previously the chair of the SBP Network’s Steering Committee.

  • Participation and engagement at the Annual Consultation and Mid-Annual Consultation.

The Standby Partnership (SBP) Network is  an initiative composed of participating NGOs, Governments, Donors, Non-Profit Organisations, Private Sector Companies and UN agencies providing critical surge support in humanitarian crisis and emergencies globally.
