Justice Rapid Response

Mandate and operations

Justice Rapid Response (JRR) partners with international, national and civil society actors by providing them with prompt, impartial and professional expertise, tailored to each context, to investigate international crimes and serious human rights violations and to promote the rights and access to justice of victims and survivors.  JRR’s rapidly deployable experts enable a holistic, gender-sensitive, and inclusive approach to justice. JRR maintains a diverse roster of over 750 justice and human rights experts representing over 50 professions ranging from criminal investigators, sexual and gender-based violence experts, forensic experts, prosecutors, military analysts, transitional and restorative justice experts, psychosocial experts, legal analysts, child rights experts, and digital investigators.

Standby Partnerships programme

As a member of the SBP Network, JRR has deployed child rights and gender experts to UNICEF to support UN Country Task Forces on Monitoring and Reporting (CTFMR) on grave violations committed against children in times of armed conflict. Since 2015, JRR has completed 35 expert deployments to answer UNICEF’s surge needs in relation to child rights and gender expertise and to advance justice for children.
